Electrical Design Software developed for use with DOS operating system. Called ‘15th Edition Cable Sizing’

1989
‘15th Edition Cable Sizing’ developed to run on Microsoft Windows – proved an enormous success.

1992-96
A new graphical front end was added to the software which was now renamed ‘CableMaster’

Two new products introduced - ‘Protect’ for co-ordination studies and ‘SingleCable’ for quick single cable calculations

PremierCare AMTECH’s unique technical support service re-branded and re-launched.

AMTECH accredited to BS EN ISO 9001 TickIT. The specialist quality scheme for IT and software companies.

‘PowerNet’ launched – powerful graphical short circuit analysis software.

AMTECH Office suite launched containing complete suite of software packages for the engineer all in one box.

‘FastTest’ launched FastTest becomes the market leading electrical Test & Inspection software

2001
Major 2001 upgrade to AMTECH range

2002
AMTECH partners with Eaton Corporation and develops a NEC version of CableMaster and Protect.

CableMaster name changed to ProDesign to reflect the global market.

Office opened in Pittsburg USA to service North American customers

2003
Major 2003 upgrade to AMTECH range

Range of ‘Mobile’ software developed for the Pocket PC platform to compliment its desktop products

2004
Major 2004 upgrade to the AMTECH range

2005
Major 2005 upgrade to the AMTECH range

elcoCAD added to the AMTECH range - specialist electrical CAD software.

ProDesign has an elcoCAD compatible module developed. Projects can be exported direct to elcoCAD software.

FastTest Domestic launched to produce certificates that satisfy Part P of the Building Control regulations that became law in January 2005

Why is quality important?
Not all software is the same. Don't be persuaded to buy software because it looks good in the brochure and the price is right. You must be sure that you are also buying a product which is stable and reliable with a first rate after-sales service. In short a quality product.

Electricity is dangerous and the consequences of badly designed electrical installations, incorrectly sized cables and protective devices, as well as poor quality documentation and certification, should not be under estimated. The onus is on you - the engineer - to ensure that any installation is safe and documented correctly. Software is an important part of this process as it ensures a consistent method of carrying out your job. Using a quality software product is therefore vital.
